Wow...I just saw this article/video of all you brave people, in the rain, queuing (may have already been posted)

http://www.gigwise.com/ne...ng-holiday

I hope you all get to see him, and have a great night - However, I'm guessing as it's so cold and wet, and most people are turning a shade of purple, purple rain is perhaps not the song you want to hear?

Take care and keep us updated x

Whether the record company pay or not, it's still not revenue generating. He had 10 security at LLH's flat, that's half the money right there, and you have to expect there will be considerably more tonight.

Weather he makes money from the gigs or from the label, him and his team will be getting paid one way or another. Could be the tour is sponsored by some brands, Events i've managed in the past with some top artists had sponsors from Coca-cola and things, this boosts revenue, I guess we'll never know, but he wont be doing it for no profit thats for sure.

Sponsors means contracts. Considering this is a tour still in the making I can't see it, what if he decides he's had enough tonight and heads home again? No deal done on that basis.

Contracts can be put together in no time, they have just tweeted a photo of everyone holding purple Zoopla brolly's a in the queue saying thanks Zoopla for the purple brolly's. Thats zoopla paying for a bit of exposure and pictured in tomorrow's papers

Was hoping to wake up this morning to see details of a tour and to be able to buy online. Then remembered this is Prince were dealing with so anything could happen.

Im still weeping about Blenheim Palace lol

Where abouts in Southsea are you?

Free promotion or not, that's pretty sweet of them, and probably greatly appreciated by the soggy fans keeping the Prince spirit alive! Now how about Burger King get their ass in gear and nip round with some free warm grub biggrin

I've been a Prince fan for 30 years plus. Like many on here I have spent more than I care to own up to on tickets over the years for concerts and aftershows. I really appreciate his talents as a musician, though question some of his antics with the record industry. But it has become increasingly difficult over the last few years to dismiss the way his fanbase is treated despite wanting to qualify everything by the phrase "but it is Prince". Sadly the debacle of the last few days has pretty much finished me now. I will always enjoy his music and have memories of fantastic concerts and aftershows but I'm too old and weary now to play these types of games. Why can't Prince or his management understand us mere mortals have bills to pay, jobs to hold down and food to put on the table of our loved ones. We have to plan, budget and take account of work when planning to see people in concerts and has he forgotten that the UK is not just London! They say the "Hit & Run" concerts are to avoid fans being scalped and that true fans will benefit - I think the opposite. Whilst a small number of true fans will get to see him, many more will be left disappointed and frustrated. Thwarted in the opportunity to see him because they live outside of London, have work, bills to pay etc etc. Not everyone can drop everything and wait in a line for the whole day (Fair play to those of you who are doing just that - been there / done that!). A properly promoted arena tour would allow fans to get tickets, budget for the concert, make a special day of it culminating in seeing a fantastic musician whilst not risking their job or putting themselves in financial difficulty.

If Prince and his management were to listen to his fans and treat them with respect - they would know, he is still very much appreciated and people want to see him perform. Give us all the opportunity rather than these "Hit & Run" events that leave many more disappointed than it leaves satisfied.

I couldn't agree more with you & after the last 3 days of waiting, refreshing web pages, etc. I just can't be arsed with it. Very nearly drove down this afternoon (after telling work I didn't feel too good & was going to go home!) but then had a moment of clarity, as I have been nothing short of OBSESSED since Monday.

Like many on here, I've been lucky enough to see a lot of concerts & aftershows since 1986, I saw all 3 nights at Montreux last year & very close to the stage, the 3rd Eye Girl show kicked ass. It's only going to be that again. For me, nothing was more amazing than seeing Prince from 86-93, when he really was PRINCE!! Holy shit, now those live shows were amazing! & really wish the new fans could have experienced that.

I feel sorry for some of the guys in the queue, as the minor celebs, radio DJ's & press/music industry folk are all going to turn up at 18:45 & walk straight in. As well as the friends of the people in the queue who will probably tag along at some point. I'd be very surprised if everyone makes it in. I have no interest in queuing for 5 hours in the rain, to have the chance to stand at the back of a room, even if it is only for £6.

The band & his management should also stop retweeting the shit we already know & give us the information we were promised. Do they not realise that most of us are sleeping at 4am when they decide to retweet 20 times 'Having a great time, thanks for the love' etc. I couldn't give a shit. You said there was going to be announcement on the 3rd, it's now the 5th.

Am I missing something....the absolute worst thing that's going to happen here - essentially due to the combined injustices of economics, demographics and geography - is that some of us aren't going to attend a (or several!) Prince concerts??? Concerts which will involve the playing of songs - as opposed to revealing the secrets of eternal life or curing cancer. The ying to that yang is that approximately 1000 people will - for a mere £10 - get to attend a Prince concert.

Which, when I last checked my sense of perspective, was a bit disappointing as opposed to end-of-the-world-chuck-my-toys-out-the-pram-burn-all-my-Prince-records, catastrophic.

Or have I missed something?

That's very cool. On the flip-side, does that mean they can expect to be out there for some considerable time yet?!

I gave up, feet are freezing and wet. I am too old for this shit. I hope that by dropping out some more hardy soul gets to see a great gig.

I feel for you dude! its still a LONG wait. Big shout to anyone willing to tough it out and hope that those of you that have queued and played by the rules get the reward!

predominant: hang in there...you will be rewarded with a 3 hrs gig...

I am home with a cup of tea and my slippers on.

In the morning I might regret heading home but some things are just more important.

Hope the gig is worth it.

I may be in the minority here.
Can't make the gig tonight but am
optimistic that there will be other opportunities.
Prince is in London and the last
time was such a blast.
At the beginning none of us
would have expected 21 nights plus
after shows.
Hoping to get lucky in the coming weeks.

BTW:

If the gig happens, please do pay attention.

He migth say something about the album.

The reason for the London show(s) was the release of the album.

As of now we do not know a release date, no tracklist,, etc. Nothing actually.

Similar to the way the show was communicated.

Would he fix that now?

Not quite sure what you were expecting from a Prince forum.

Not been much discussion about cancer on here as far as I can recall.

I think the point folks are trying to make is that there is a 'right' way of doing something, and a wrong way. What's happening today doesn't seem right.

I ordered my Janelle Monae ticket in 2 mins this morning and I know i'm sorted for May. 2 sodding mins. WTF, Prince.
